Marriage Certificate

This is a copy of the marriage certificate issued to Stanley and Diana when they were married in Warsaw on September 21, 1943.  Due to the risk of the marriage, both Stanley and Diana used false identities: Stanley was Stanisław Olgierd Włodzimierz Sternikowski, the son of Jan Zygfryd and Stefania, with birthdate Aug. 8, 1907 (Stanley’s parents were actually Siegfried and Salomea, and he was born in 1912) and Diana was Anna-Maria Krzemińska, the daughter of Jan and Cecylia, with birthdate October 5, 1918 (Diana’s parents were actually Józef and Władysława, and she was born in 1921).

Several years after the war, after Stanley and Diana had already left Poland, Diana’s brother Tadeusz was able to obtain a copy of the marriage certificate for them.
